Arrived in Columbus, OH yesterday for Origins Game Fair 2012. First thing on the list was to visit the Mayfair room and see some old friends: The next stop was event registration, where I saw tables with Mayfair games printed on them. Buttons galore with a giveaway!

The button maker arrived and, as you can see, I’ve been a little busy making buttons inspired by comic books, Doctor Who, MineCraft, Star Trek, Looney Labs, Hell Boy, H. P. Lovecraft, Portal, Setters of Catan, and loads of other ideas. However, since the eventual goal is to sell these, do you see any you really like? Anything you’d like to see that I haven’t made? Origins is just a week away!

With only one week to go, I’m more excited for Origins this year than ever. I already have plans to try some new games at the con, teach lots of games for Mayfair Games and Eagle & Gryphon Games, have some wonderful ice cream at the North Market, and just have a blast gaming with friends for five days. Oh yes, there will be buttons…

It’s been decided that as well as the items made and displayed on the craft page that 1 inch buttons will be made and sold on the Etsy shop once everything is set up. Everything including getting the appropriate tax IDs registered, items made, and pictures taken. Some geeky example ideas so far for the 1 inch buttons: “Keep calm and…” Cthulhu related Pinterest pins with IDs Geek-Craft logos (of course) If you have any ideas for buttons you’d like to see, comment below or shoot me an email.

Stratus Games is making a new party game about being a little bit crazy, or at least acting like it. In Off Your Rocker, you either play one of the patients with a strange quirk or the psychiatrist trying to figure out what the quirk is. They offered a preview to anyone who would review the game, and since I was already heading to MiniPenCon, I thought it could be a good chance to check the game out. Had a small game demo event with the Mayfield Heights High School Pop Culture Club. We did Oz Fluxx since we were in a library, Star Fluxx since there were some sci-fi fans there, and Zendo due to the group that showed. Going to go back and teach other games. If your a local club or group that would like me to come by and teach games, please let me know. I love teaching them and helping introduce people to hobby level gaming.
