Arrived in Columbus, OH yesterday for Origins Game Fair 2012. First thing on the list was to visit the Mayfair room and see some old friends: The next stop was event registration, where I saw tables with Mayfair games printed on them. Origins is just a week away!

With only one week to go, I’m more excited for Origins this year than ever. I already have plans to try some new games at the con, teach lots of games for Mayfair Games and Eagle & Gryphon Games, have some wonderful ice cream at the North Market, and just have a blast gaming with friends for five days. On May 5th and 6th, there’s a mini convention happening in Solon, Ohio. It’s going to be a small get together, 30-40 people, but it’s should be all kinds of fun and a great way to get the gaming convention season kicked off right. I plan on going and taking games to teach and play, and I’ll have some promo stuff to give away for everyone who comes and learns the games I bring along. Origins is officially only 49 days away! I know that they don’t have their event schedule up yet, but anyone who’s gone before will know that this isn’t a new thing for them. Drove over to Toledo yesterday for BashCon, a smaller gaming convention that takes place every February. I took two friends with me as well. We went, saw some old friends from past Origins, and then sat down and learned some new games. First was Rocket Jockey from Mayfair Games. We did a three player game, and it took us a little while to get going, but we were also catching up with friends. Once we got the rules we got wrong corrected, the game went pretty quickly.
