Origins 2016 – Back with a Vengeance

I spent June 15th through 19th in Columbus, OH for my ninth Origins Game Fair. I love Origins, and this year felt busier than ever. While there were only 15,480 attendees, it felt like there were more people there over the course of the convention. But enough about the people, let’s talk about the games at Origins 2016!

Geek-Craft goes to Unpub 0

Unpub 6 – The Best 2 Days in Unfinished Gaming

Unpub is one of my favorite conventions because it’s a chance to play games before they’re finished and anyone who attends can help influence a game into what it will eventually become. The convention is free for anyone to attend and play games, which means it’s a great opportunity to also increase knowledge of our hobby. I got to play a lot of great games and want to talk about them to get other people excited for them!

Gen Con – 61,423 attendees

I’m a bit late talking about my Gen Con haul, but it was a blast. 61,423 gamers attended, up 9% from 2014, and the halls felt as packed as ever!

Origins 2015 is coming

Origins is just two weeks away. While it won’t quite compare to the events of last year, Origins 2015 is looking to be a lot of fun. I’m excited by a number of games that’ll be shown in Columbus.

Unpub 5 – A follow up

We’re back from Unpub 5 and we played a lot of interesting games. I want to talk about those games and about the convention and why you should consider Unpub in 2016, whether you’re a publisher, established designer, budding designer, or player.

Post Gen Con 2014 – 56,614 Gamers

The stats are out! There were 56,614 attendees at Gen Con 2014 with a turnstile attendance of 184,699. It was a great time and I got to see a lot of games, most of which were on my list. There were some surprises, but that’s part of the fun of Gen Con!
