Arrived in Columbus, OH yesterday for Origins Game Fair 2012. First thing on the list was to visit the Mayfair room and see some old friends: The next stop was event registration, where I saw tables with Mayfair games printed on them. The button maker arrived and, as you can see, I’ve been a little busy making buttons inspired by comic books, Doctor Who, MineCraft, Star Trek, Looney Labs, Hell Boy, H. P. Origins is just a week away!

With only one week to go, I’m more excited for Origins this year than ever. I already have plans to try some new games at the con, teach lots of games for Mayfair Games and Eagle & Gryphon Games, have some wonderful ice cream at the North Market, and just have a blast gaming with friends for five days. Origins is officially only 49 days away! I know that they don’t have their event schedule up yet, but anyone who’s gone before will know that this isn’t a new thing for them. Drove over to Toledo yesterday for BashCon, a smaller gaming convention that takes place every February. I took two friends with me as well. We went, saw some old friends from past Origins, and then sat down and learned some new games. First was Rocket Jockey from Mayfair Games. Registration seems to be open for Origins Game Fair 2012. This board game convention happens in Columbus, OH and is five days of gaming of all kinds. I’ve gone every year since 2008 and I’ll be going again this year. It’s a lot of fun to get to meet up with a large number of gamers (over 11,000 last year), maybe get to play some games you haven’t in a while, like Diplomacy and Werewolf. or participate in tournaments like Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan.
