Demo Night at Game Emporium!
I’ll be demoing Eagle & Gryphon games at Game Emporium on July 16th from 8 to 10 PM. You can come by, learn some new games, maybe pick up one through the store! I’m currently planning on bringing and teaching Incan Gold, Pastiche, Can’t Stop, Roll Through the Ages, and High Society.
Incan Gold is a push your luck style game where the players are going into a cursed temple. Each turn they must decide individually if they are going deeper into the temple, hoping for more treasure, or running out of the temple and keeping the treasure they have already gained. The game is played through 5 rounds and the key to the game is understanding the other players.
Pastiche is an artistic game where the players are trying to reproduce classic works of art. Players gain paint cards by playing tiles to the board and seeing what combinations have occured. There are bonuses for having multiple paintings by one painter, and the game is very easy to pick up and play.
Can’t Stop is a classic Sid Sackson game of pushing your luck. On each turn, the current player will roll 4 dice and pair them. The goal is to move tokens up the board to control 3 different numbers. For example, a player needs to get a total of 3 rolls of 2 or 12 in order to claim those columns. To control the 7, a player needs a lot more. It’s a simple game that anyone who can add to twelve can play.
Roll Through the Ages is a civilization building dice rolling game. The dice represent your cities and on each turn you roll them to determine what you gain. Do you get the food you need to support your people? Do you gain workers? Do you use those workers to gain more cities or claim a monument before the other players do?
High Socieity is a game about being rich and having all the best toys. Each round a card is flipped and the players bid on the item. When a player wins the auction, they pay the money they’ve spent. In the end the player with the most points wins, unless they have the least amount of money. A simple twist on a bidding game that makes it a lot of fun.
