Back from Origins!

I’ve been preparing for Origins for the past two weeks, and I’m sorry that there hasn’t been an update. There’ll be some news with the next post, and a bit of a redesign is in the works. The main thing to take away from Origins was that I brought home a ton of games.

There’s a lot going on next month, so I figure I should have some kind of announcement as to what’s actually going on to help everyone (including me) keep track. There are going to be the regular demos, but we also have some other fun things planned.

New Games, New Year, and News

Sorry for the lack of updates, but things have been keeping me rather busy as of late. Been playing a lot of games, working on game related projects, planning conventions, and helping out with some folks new to the hobby. Here’s an update so you know what I’ve been up to lately. U-Con and new games

I got to go up to Michigan for U-Con with some friends, and we had a great time. I got to sit and play some new games or revisit some games that I haven’t played for a while. I’m going to give my first impressions of the games below, having only played them once. These are not full-fledged reviews, but give you a look at how I feel about the first plays of these games. Conventia – So many conventions, so little time

I love going to board game conventions, but I know that I’m not aware of a lot of them. There are the big ones: Origins, GenCon, PAX / PAX East, and of course Spiel in Germany. I’m also looking for the not-quite-as-big ones, like BGG.con, DicetowerCon, and World Boardgaming Championships. I also know there are smaller local cons to northeast Ohio, like AnCon and Con on the Cob.
