Buttons galore with a giveaway!

The button maker arrived and, as you can see, I’ve been a little busy making buttons inspired by comic books, Doctor Who, MineCraft, Star Trek, Looney Labs, Hell Boy, H. P. Lovecraft, Portal, Setters of Catan, and loads of other ideas. However, since the eventual goal is to sell these, do you see any you really like? Anything you’d like to see that I haven’t made? Leave a comment below and one lucky commenter will have a set of five buttons of their choice made and shipped to them! I’ll close the drawing at 11:59 PM on Monday, so you have all weekend to come up with ideas and share this with your friends!

Update: I’ve just realized there’s no incentive for anyone to spread the news, so when someone wins, if they give your name or site as the one who referred them here, you’ll also get 5 buttons!

We have our winner! I went to random.org, told it to give me a random number between 1 and 40 inclusive. Had it picked me, I’d have re-drawn, but it picked number 19, which is Leanne. I’ve already emailed you the information I need to send you your buttons!

To everyone else, thank you for the ideas and participating and better luck next time. This won’t be the last contest on Geek-Craft, so keep the site bookmarked. Until then, please contact me with any board game or other geeky questions you have, along with any other button ideas you’d like to see: Ken@Geek-Craft.com

Cool Buttons Love the Batman one!

  2. I think you could use some more anime and video game themed buttons!

    • Ken says:

I already plan to have a Laughing Man from Ghost in the Shell, since I love that anime, and have thought of doing some FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Bleach, and Gurren Lagann. What anime(s) and video game(s) do you think I should do?

I will leave a comment and will thus enter the contest. I am leaving a comment and so am entering the contest. I have left a comment, and thus have entered the contest.

    • Ken says:

I have read your comment, and therefore you are entered into the contest.

For those of you who don’t know John, he does follow rules, sometimes a little too well…

      • John Strobel says:

I probably should have made that three separate comments… but then I would have entered three times when only one entry was requested! Gah! *head asplode*

I’m glad you like them. You should also check out the Crafts tab at the top for other geeky related craft items.

Zombie hunting badges are always a hit, but if you are so inclined I’d be happy to get you some art for a MIB eye in pyramid logo

    • Ken says:

Zombie Hunting in a button that reads “Zombie Hunter” or more like a Zombie Dice theme? I have a high-res version of the EIP, but wanted to get these ideas up first. Thank you though.

  8. FanNee says:

    omg. i want all!!! *.*

  9. Leanne M. says:

I really like the Avengers and batman buttons. It would be cool if you had Adventure Time or Homestuck buttons though 😀

    • Ken says:

Adventure Time certainly crossed my mind when I was creating a list of pins to make. I’ve not read Homestuck, but I can certainly check it out. If you have a suggested character or other ideas, I’m all ears!

  10. kat says:

Maybe some TF2 buttons? Maybe some book ones, some HP or Hunger Games? Personally, I would adore a ReBoot button 🙂

    • Ken says:

Ooh, I like that idea. The Red and Blue logos, pins with the 9 character faces on them, maybe some kind of hat system for the pins. 😉

Harry Potter crossed my mind, specifically the different houses, the Hogwarts crest, and the Deathly Hollows symbol. A Mockingjay would certainly work well, and be a really great size.

And ReBoot? Hmmm… Hexadecimal’s face on a very 90’s background, or maybe different masks of hers… I like this idea. 🙂

  11. Vasko says:

Keep calm and geek on / Keep calm and geek out (never mind you have this one – yep I like it) / Keep calm and crit hard / If you are going to have the green lantern, how about the red lantern symbol? Perhaps a couple gear type things? IF you feel like going nc-17, I’d suggest CAH for some inspiration.

    • Ken says:

Yeah, Keep Calm and Geek Out was one of the first “Keep Calm…” ideas I had. Maybe a set of the different lantern logos. (Which reminds me that I need to read that arc). Gears as in Steampunk type of stuff, or something else? And Cards Against Humanity could certainly inspire some ideas. All of them horrible, of course. 🙂

  12. William says:

You should make rage face buttons (derpina, forever alone, troll guy, etc.)
OR Pokemon buttons (pokeball, jigglypuff, pikachu, squirtle, etc.) 😀

    • Ken says:

The issue with doing the rage face buttons is that there are so many faces and I can’t keep up with them all! However, Pokemon buttons, especially the different pokeballs, is a good idea. Check out the Crafts link at the top of the page, cause I could also do a set of Pokeball coasters in plastic canvas.

  13. All of your buttons are awesome D:

  14. Rena says:

These are so awesome! I love buttons. 😀 I adore the Captain America shield button 😀

  15. Brenda says:

    The Avengers button ftw!

    • Ken says:

You mean the Avengers logo? I was trying to find or make simplified images of the Avengers to have a multi-pin pack. May have to give that another shot.

  16. Sandra says:

god, they are so beautiful *-*

  17. Thinksnow says:

This is comment. I am leaving it.

  18. CellBlock says:

What else goes good as a 1″ logo? Maybe some wargaming stuff, like warhammer guys or something? You’ve got the comic books and the most popular sci-fi… maybe some extra boardgaming stuff, like meeples or little houses. Obviously, you don’t want to run afoul of someone’s trademarks, but maybe some of the well known board/card game pictograms could be good, like the resources in Settlers, the phases of Race for the Galaxy, or the wide library of emblems in the new prints of 7 Wonders.

    • Ken says:

It’s a little hard to see, based on the colors, but there is a “Keep Calm and Trade Wood for Sheep” button in the top row. I was considering the phases or a planet with victory point logo, and Meeples should be obvious. However, always good to make sure I have all of the geeky bases covered.

  19. AnnaBella Urdaneta says:

A TARDIS one, even if it is just the white box with writing on the left side of the front doors or the full front of the TARDIS. There should be a Hawkeye one too….
    this type of a thing:
    http://www.boostinspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/superhero-minimalist-posters/hawkeye.jpg
the Gallifreyan symbol for sound or confusion if they arent already made
an Avatar Last Airbender one with the airbender arrow or with pabu (the fire ferret from thew new series) or Momo (the flying lemur from the old series)
A Harry Potter lightning scar or the HP logo or the Deathly hallows triangle
    A Sherlock (BBC series) one
    Torchwood logo
    A pokeball

I believe that is it for my ideas.
I do enjoy the Avengers logo, Shield logo, and the Gallifreyan ones.

    • Ken says:

Yes, already considered a TARDIS, and I like the other Avengers too. Just trying to find nice and clean images.
I like the Airbender idea, and thought of doing the symbols for the different elements. Harry Potter stuff obviously crossed my mind, and I like the other ideas. 🙂
