Another week of gaming, acquisitions, and events. This time with some weighty packages and some heavier games, but also some light games and goofy fun.
I want to talk more about gaming, so here’s the first post of what I hope will be a useful series. A weekly post about games I’ve been playing, games I’ve picked up, games I’m going to be teaching, and whatever else I can think of!
This’ll come a shock to approximately no one, but I really enjoy playing board games. I figured out a while ago that the stuff in the box obviously makes the game, but there are a number of things you can purchase that will take your gaming experiences from fun to awesome. Let’s talk about board game accessories.
Fantasy Flight has another Living Card Game releasing soon, this one in the Marvel universe. Full cooperative game play, monthly expansions, and a huge license – is this a game worth assembling, or should it just be turned to dust?
Calico is a game about making quilts and attracting cats to lay on them. It’s a very casual concept, but that doesn’t mean it’s a casual game. Playing one to four players in thirty to forty-five minutes also means it fits nicely into most collections. Does that mean this is a game worth getting so your cats can sit in the lid?
