I got a lot of games at Gen Con 2016. No, really a LOT of games. But I also got to play some games, and while talking about purchases is fun, I’d like to discuss the games I got to play and what I thought about them. Some of the games are out now, some won’t be out until later this year, but I had a great time at the convention.
Chris Kirkman from Dice Hate Me Games recently did a contest for players to create games using 54 cards. Bryan Fischer, a friend of mine designed a game around making pie and Chris’ contest inspired him to re-think his design. Now Pie Factory is up on Kickstarter along with five other card games. While at the World Boardgaming Championships, I got to try out Dice Hate Me Games’ newest Kickstarter project, The Great Heartland Hauling Co. by Jason Kotarski. I really like pick up and deliver games, and thought that one that plays in 30 minutes would work well and be a great fit with my gaming group.
